So I had this very lucid dream last week. I was on this space ship and I was given a tour of it. I remember at some point clearly reading the date (however I have since then forgotten what is was exactly.) I remember it being sometime in the twenty-seventh century.
The spaceship made contact with Earth in the sixteenth century. It abducted some humans. In the dream the spaceship had a sentient computer and at one time possessed all the knowledge of the known universe. Someone from Earth decide to hack into the computer send the information back to Earth, in an attempt to advance the world's scientific knowledge. The information was sent out as a beam that wasn't light but it was still a particle-wave that had a definite structure looked something like ball-bearings. However these information packets lasted roughly between a thousand to two thousand years before they started to deteriorate. If they were not intercepted that information was at risk being lost forever. This only became an issue as the spaceship traveled hundreds to thousands of light years away from the Earth. I remember seeing in my dream a chart of the various stages of the information-packets that looked something like this:

I was shown my quarters, which was very spacious but had no furniture, the walls were dark grey. The spaceship had large windows where I could look out into space. Then I remember walking through the corridors and at one point being on the bridge. I was told that the spaceship was in trouble.

The problem was that whatever information was being transferred was also being wiped from the computer's memory bank. The spaceship and its crew were endangered because the computer was slowly loosing its ability to function because of loosing so much vital information. At the end of the dream I saw wall which had the computer interface which look like something out of the Matrix. It was three dimension hologram compose of moving bits of green light. The computer went from being the most knowledgeable thing in the universe to basically a simpleton.

The main computer visual interface after having a considerable amount information wiped from its computer banks:
