Hmm... Well how come all the DDD CDs I own from the early 90s sound much like AAD releases from that era, just without any tape hiss at a high volume (if there was any in the first place). Even stuff from c.2000 (which will almost certainly be digital) doesn't sound AS overproduced as now.
