Fine. It wasn't a fight, more an ass-kicking, with me on the receiving end. As Gilbert O'Sullivan once said (shut it) I'm a writer, not a fighter.
Heading home with my best mate, we got into an argument about how he was treating his girlfriend of the time (so Pet_Sounds, you were kind of right). Gang of lads - five maybe - walked by, said something, he growled "*******", they came back, started kicking the **** out of him. I jumped in to help him (as if I'd be any help, but hey, it took one or two off him as they started kicking me, so maybe it was some help). Passed out for a few minutes, woke up, we staggered back to his house (was about five minutes away) and his shocked mother drove us to the hospital.
To be honest, I'm so useless in a fight that there may as well have been twelve of them. All I remember is covering my head and hoping I wouldn't get brain damage out of it. Huh? Me fail English? Unpossible!
Sadly, my mate passed away a year or two later. Nothing to do with the kicking. Really miss him.
