They did MMM. The way I saw it, it's taking the immensity of MMM and doing that with a large variety of instruments instead of heavy layers like Lou Reed did. I basically just played a lot of the key themes that I could make out in the original and tried to copy those on clarinet, acoustic/electric guitar, drums, flutes, sax, and other things I've since forgotten about. I then looped and played with them on audacity until I was happy with it.
