I suppose I was alluding to the idea that, afaik, most of us hold here; that how the world reacts to your "masterpiece" is not the responsibility of the artist and that popular acclaim (or lack of) is not a measure of musical quality.

I remember Weds morning 3 a.m. as being a decent album in it's quiet way, which could be said of the Sound of Silence song too imo, so I'm a bit surprised that you should have taken against it so strongly. But let's not sweat it; perhaps in the US, S & G ended up getting too much praise/exposure for their own good.


St.Trinian's: Sorry, rather than check back to your post and put in the right name (St.Andrew's) I was lazy and put in a name which in the UK has come to stand for a generic, joke girls' school. It's a reference to some very dated comedy films that's not worth pursuing any furthur than this:-
