I can easily see that no one plays any of my music on Youtube and Soundcloud. We're talking 0-50 listens in 1-2 years per album/song. Most ratings on Youtube are downvotes from alt-right morons I've been clashing with in various comment sections.
On The Modarchive (database of tens of thousands of tracks for old tracker programs of the style that I use) I've got a combined 12.000+ downloads spread across 82 trakcs. That sounds good until you realize that, just like me, most users on that site just download everything new into a system of folders and forgets to listen to 3/4 of it
It certainly puts the 12.000 downloads into perspective that I've only gotten 4 ratings since 2011, for an average of 7/10.
I'm not complaining though. I love making music no matter what and I like the idea that thousands of my tracks are floating around on hard drives out there.
