Yazz Ahmed - La Saboteuse (2017)
One of the best trumpeters in jazz today. She's played with everyone from
Radiohead to
Swing Out Sister. This particular project is hard to pigeonhole: it has some jazz-fusion aspects to it (lots of instrumental interplay, including bassoon, guitar and sax), but also incorporates elements from Ethiopian and Iranian folk traditions. Very cinematic sounding material in the best way possible.
