I also had an infatuation with Jurassic Park as a child and as such found myself determined to read the book back in like... 3rd or 4th grade. Way too young to be reading a book like that. Even earlier than that, my mom actually read it to me as my bedtime story, but I think she wanted to read it too, and it was an easy way to do that without me being a little kid in the background. I know she probably edited some bits out, but thinking back on it now it is pretty cool that was was willing to do that.
