People don't really hate 99% of the things they say they hate. It usually just means "I find some facets of this thing disagreeable".

Ya, his movies are pretty silly (some flops), but a friend of mine had a car service in Boca Raton, FL and drove Mr. Sandler and his family for a few days. He said of all the celebrities he recalls, Mr Sandler was truly the most polite, respectful, made him feel very special and chatted with non-actors like they were buddies for years. He adored his kids, who were polite.
But I understand, he can be obnoxious. I love "Happy Gilmore," but I know plenty of people who would rather have bamboo shoots jammed up their finger nails rather than watch that.
