CunninLynguists -
Rose Azura Njano
I was kind of hoping they'd just release Njano as an EP for those of us who have already bought the Rose and Azura EP's, that way we don't have to repurchase half the songs, but whatevs, it's more CunninLynguists and that's always a good thing. I do find myself enjoying the songs off the Rose and Azura EP's a bit more now that I can hear the whole album, and it definitely does remind me a lot of
Dirty Acres era CunninLynguists, which given the state of the US right now makes a lot of sense. Overall it's a good piece of work, but I do think it kind of fits in this middle category for the group. It feels like a mix of a typical studio CunninLynguists album and one of their Strange Journey mixtapes that fill the space between studio releases. Still, if you enjoy the group, there's a lot to like here.
