the bands you've mentioned do not represent this new golden age in british music. its always a particular genre that booms and becomes the new "golden age"..the 60s brought psychedelia, the 70's punk, the 80s im not totally certain, and the 90s britpop. i think this decade will be remembered for its "nu-indie" boom, bands such as the libertines, bloc party, arctic monkeys, the futureheads, franz ferdinand etc. Of course that isnt everybodies cup of tea, and its hardly ground breaking in terms of originality, but its been the "in-thing" for a couple of years now... and emo is more of a stateside phenomenon in terms of the actual bands arising. i just cant see anything else surfacing and i think this new indie scene will only develop for a couple more years before peetering away. but hey, i like it so im not complaining.
