Pretty good stuff. Not sure I'm totally sold on it but it's certainly engaging. Good singer. Yeah, I think this is one of those albums that I could really get into if I gave it a few more spins. “Love You Any Less” is a particular highlight, a soulful, bluesy ballad dripping with aching emotion. Yeah, this is pretty promising. Kind of reminds me of Marc Cohn (remember him: “Walking in Memphis”?) at times. * Oddly enough, Wiki says it's his debut album but I see one released in 2014 called
Wolves, so I don't know what they're talking about. How unusual. Not. “Ego” is a little twee in a way, while “Arrow” is right out of the seventies soul playbook and then becomes a kind of gospel tune. I must come back to this at some stage. Like I'm ever going to do that....
