This isn't the kind of jazz I usually listen to - so what makes it special? Well, it's written by Leonard Cohen and sung by his long-time companion Anjani, so I find myself listening carefully to the lyrics, which don't disappoint.

And how comfortable are we with a musician who is also a tv presenter? Probably not very; it smacks too much of the uncommitted popularizer. Still, Jools Holland does a good job of being an unobnoxious host and a talented pianist as well, as you can see in this clip.
