The movie was great, but not as an adaptation of the manga. It had great visuals, stunning music etc.. but the manga was what, 2k pages long ? sth like that.. it was as faithful as an adaptation as the latest Ghost in the Shell (the live one, with Scarlett J.).
Which basically means that while it was good enough to stand on its own, plotwise it took a handful of motives from the original and mixed them up a bit.
I enjoyed both
