I live in Baltimore so it kind of hit a nerve. The city is combined with poor people, mostly African-American, who see a life of hopelessness. Then you have who I not so affectionately call the yuppies. They pretty much want to gentrify the city for their own uses. And, of course, there is the mistrust of the cops which is what led to the riots a couple years ago. I don't know what the solution would be ultimately. Maybe the leaders (and Baltimore has some fantastic community leaders) can start with the upcoming generation. It's probably already too late for the present one.
One good thing. If you think this mayor is bad (not saying she is by the way- she's been in less than a year), you should have seen the two that preceded her.
