Add n to (X) is a band that appeared on the Peel sessions. John Peel is a interesting person. He was a radio DJ in the UK, he had finger on the pulse of what was happening at the time. If he played a band's single, or have them appear on his show virtually help launch that band.
Sean McBride (Xeno & Oaklander, Martial Canterel) uses entirely all hardware synthesizers (as oppose to software like FM8 which was use for the warble bass in dubstep). Sean uses old Roland synths and drum machines to control his Eurorack (mini-modular) synthesizers.
Add n to (X). Sean McBride, Adrian Utley, and Timothy Wiles (Uberzone) are gearheads that collect a lot of old synths. Joel Zimmerman (Deadmau5) is another who uses analog modular synthesizers. I think like the 20s there will still be a niche for music made from hardware synthesizers.
