Even tho gqom will peak in a more worldly way before 2020 and begin slowly dying out,
there’ll be a more worldwide interest in electro-champeta with heavier emphasis on its jibaro component.
It’ll die by media consumption soon afterwards.

I’m guessing that rara tech will spread too, but the kompa elements that you hear these days
will be nearly gone by 2020 with a more growing emphasis on rabòday taking over the beats.
That would be the club scene.

As for new styles: maybe there’ll be something that could be called “ragburn" -
a mixture of ragtime and footwork with beats exceeding 150 bpm or songs that
contain purposely unresolved melodies that drop into extended silences (“blueballing”) -
a response to a two year absence of net neutrality.

After 2020, I’m expecting more people to be tired of music that tells stories -
especially ones that feature lyrical content, so we might see more online
sound creations done for the sole purpose of having them become part of
a larger system of interactions whereby you have some kind of constantly
morphing situational event portal that combines more than sound
(and that could also be transported into physically live events if need be).
So, if you’re proud of your lyrics for your debut, I’d say that you’re already
looking backwards.
Thanks for the answer, I like the ideas you have here. I was planning to have a debut which is half me and my true way of making music and the other half pop hits. I would like to taste stardom just for the sake of it, and then return to doing whatever the hell I want, without minding the charts or mainstream consumers. By the way, is there a section in the forums where I can post some of my lyrics? It would be nice to finally get some opinions or criticism on them.
