A question for the Americans. I know I've brought it up before.

If someone is poor and has no health insurance, let's say they get cancer or some other serious illness which is obviously not their fault.

They get billed for it at the end right? Or it's taken automatically from future earnings? Basically what I'm asking is can someone in the US end up in a load of debt for the crime of getting cancer?

How common is not having health insurance, do any of you guys not have it? What would you do if something happened?

Just wondering tbh.
