There's a limit though. And the early stuff is still extreme relatively speaking. Either way extremity has no bearing on how good a band is. When Jawbox sold out they made their best album. And sometimes pretty extreme stuff suddenly gets accepted by the mainstream for no appearant reason even though normally they think a pop punk distortion guitar is heavy.
