Yeah I agree it can get boring in a modern context but considering how it's the primarily recognised record in pioneering Free Jazz as apposed to Coltrane, Brubeck and Gillespie and how it culturally, techniqualy and musically changed and pushed the progression of Jazz through the 20th century. I'm going to do this like I do the album club: My subjective reaction to/feelings about the album. I'm not a member of some panel about to create some official music canon. Not saying you approach is wrong, just that I don't get the need for it, given the circumstances.
