But to be fair a lot of huge rappers that are blowing up right now do go for a lofi aesthetic and I do enjoy some of them when it's done well. Definitely prefer a much more well polished project though. Seems more heart gets put into things you throw your passion into rather than these half assed after thoughts people make in the moment most of the time.

There's some real good lo-fi ****. Like old Beck on Mellow Gold and Stereopathetic Soulmanure, but I'm pretty sure that was lo-fi out of necessity because the dude was poor and just making it in the business. There's a charm to it, like if you've ever seen the movie El Mariachi, and it's just so cheaply made but it's really actually just a great movie despite that.
