I blame it all on The Last Waltz, then it got worse with We Are The World. I'm talking about the studio and concert get-togethers where you can almost hear the stage groaning under the weight of celebrity musicians - but the music they produce is often mediocre. I'm sure there are exceptions, but I usually find those star-studded sing-alongs very disappointing.
