They're both rather accessible imo and Ask the Ages can probably help you understand Coltrane better since it has Elvin Jones and Pharoah Sanders on it and Sharrock's guitar playing is very saxophone-esque. Definitely return to this album (and the rest of Coltrane's free work) if you start appreciating those records. Coltrane's earlier work is also much more accessible.
This one's underrated imo

Red Garland kind of saves the day there; you can tell Coltrane was inspired by Garland’s solo because he responds so well to it.
