I don't like Friedmans solo records, but he was an excellent fit for Megadeth imo. The solo in Tornado of Souls is immortal. My favorite lead guitarist for Megadeth was probably Chris Poland. His style just fit really interestingly on the two albums he played on (The System Has Failed and Peace Sells). Poland plays with all these subtle bends and adds a lot of tonal tension in his melodies, making it sound quite jazzy at times.
I think most of the band's lead guitarists have been interesting. Chris Broderick and Glen Drover somewhat excepted.
