Kikagaku Moyo- House in the Tall Grass (2016)
Best Tracks: Kogarashi, Silver Owl, Trad
Weakest Tracks: Melted Crystal, Fata Morgana
I like this album. It’s mellow for the most part though it does have its heavier moments. I especially liked the longer songs which is a little unusual for me. In fact, my least favorite song on the album, Fata Morgana, was way too short for me. In contrast, the ten minute long Silver Owl seems to glide smoothly with its changes from mellow to heavy. The album ends nicely with the acoustic Cardigan Song.
So I’m giving this one a strong like. I can’t quite love it, but it came pretty close.
