Okay so lemme say this first. Why on earth does
'Green Light' open this album? Such a weird choice. Sure, it's the hit single, but there seems to be some serious care taken in the way the album was structured. And that song just doesn't work. It would make more sense as the final track in fact.
Anyway, there's just something about this album which has had me hooked since it was released. From punchy choruses, pop hooks to grandiose ballads.
Lorde absolutely smashed it. You rarely see an incredibly famous pop singer come out with what feels like an actual album - as opposed to a collection of songs. Let alone one this good.
For the longest time this was my absolute nailed on album of the year, and I even hinted at it in this thread. But never underestimate my ability to find a new bae.
