Rina Sawayama -
RINA
When my man
Clarence Clarity hit the scene big in 2015 with
No Now, he brought something completely unique to the scene. I have spent many hours trying to discover music that had the same kind of vibe. That specific quirkyness and off the wall nature. But I always seemed to come up short. So when I discovered this album I was hoping that the man himself would bless me with more of the same.
Instead, he teamed up with
Rina to create something a bit different. Futuristic Retro-Pop is about as close a description as I can think of. It sounds as if some of Earth's colonisers in the year 3000 discovered a late 90's/early 00's Pop compilation and tried to re-create the magic - to wondrous effect.
I know you guys probably think I have an unhealthy obsession with female pop singers by now. You're probably right. But if you don't think the track below is about as good as music can get you're a damn fool.
