Something like this really needs to founded on sincerity. I get the impression he’s really a poetry slam guy who tries a little too hard sound like he’s compensating for a lack of traditional talent with enthusiasm and honesty.

I never bought into the poetry slam thing and I’m not so sure about the just landing a bit short of the poetry slam thing either. Like he’s rejecting something that’s not even worth rejecting and his friend zone isolation lyrics strike me as probably calculated.

In a nutshell, I don’t quite believe him and to really enjoy this I gotta be fully sold.
