Hey, if there's one thing I'm good at, it's stealing other people's ideas!
So you all know the deal: Blank's "MB Classics" thread seems to have stalled. How about we try it with metal albums only? Tell you what: to open it up just a little, and not exclude those who have no real interest in metal, let's say we include albums that could be more considered hard rock than metal. If an album or albums look to be on shaky ground for inclusion we can discuss it, but the final decision will be mine.
So submit your five metal albums you want to discuss and we'll see which ones end up being voted classics. I'm not sure how Blank was intending to run his thread, but for this one I'll select one randomly each week for voting. After one week voting will close and either pronounced a classic or not, but you can keep discussing it after that point, just no more votes. As in Blank's rules, talk a little about the album or your vote won't count.
Minimum of three people voting required on every album, anything over 8 will be considered having made it as a classic.
Note: **** RYM. I ain't doin' no list. All I'll do is colour-code the albums in the list. See if you can guess what means what. Give up? Green = made it to classic. Red = Didn't make the cut. Blue = In play at the moment. Black = Yet to be picked for a vote. Simples, yes?
So, who's first? Mine are of course first here below, but that doesn't mean they'll be picked first necessarily.
Spoilering this now...
Album List
As requested by Frownland, here's an alphabetical listing of the albums suggested, arranged by artist. No member names are shown against any, as the order has now changed so everyone's name would have to appear in up to five separate spots. You can cross-reference with the other list if you're not sure.
