The best thing about Madvillainy - aside from its factual perfection - is what it inspired and the direction it sent alternative Hip-Hop in. A collab between MC and Producer with seamless production between tracks. An attempt at a completely cohesive stand-alone unit, as opposed to a collection of songs. It had been tried before of course, but the impact is a tad more significant when you're talking about one of the best in both fields hitting their A-game, coming through with the best material of their careers.

This album may be the biggest inspiration for Madvillainy itself though:
