Feels like a collection of novelty tunes.

There's a basic well constructed-ness to these songs, but they mostly feel paper thin and sort of daft. Very little here feels like anything I could possibly take seriously. "Rubber Band" is one example of what happens when this album hits rock bottom. Pretty close to terrible.

It's amazing how mature his voice sounds here though. He must have been very young, but sounds the same as he did 10-20 years later.

I'm gonna rate this thing in relation to the rest of his discography, with 1's just being the worst he's made - not flat out terrible albums in general. Since I'm no Bowie fan, it's going to have to largely be based on expectations this early in his discography. This HAS to be one of the lowest points of his career, so it's a 1 from me.
