Starflight II was an addictive game! **** graphics (think it was CGA - remember that?) on the DOS platform, but incredible gameplay. You roamed the galaxy colonising and often strip-mining planets, then sold your stuff on other planets. You could even hunt alien creatures and take them off to other worlds to sell. Ambiguous morals, great game.
