Was Kate Bush explicitly an '80s pop machine?
My point, which I guess you missed, was that being sonically tied to a decade doesn't neccesarily mean that you automatically sound comparable to every other popular musician of that decade. So this "But Kate Bush has an '80sy sound, therefore No Wave Funk" stuff is not only not true, because only three of her albums were even released in the 80s anyway, but also pointless.
Writing off an entire artist because like maybe 10% of their work is sort of in a similar vein to another artist is hilariously arbitrary.

Which is why your gut instinct when we mentioned it was to throw up some No-Wave Funk that sounded nothing like it, beyond having a female vocalist and being danceable (tbh, Chiomara would be like the only one dancing if someone started blasting The Dreaming at a club).
But in the end, here are the only questions that matter: Did you actually listen to the whole album, and did you like it?
