Solid flat surface at all times. Was helping my neighbor across the street in learning how to create bookmarks. He had his laptop on top of a thick blanket - the thing was smoking hot. Gave him a ton of ****. He's a car nut so I explained how it's the same thing. Gotta keep the engine running as cool as possible.
