Dude. Watch Ninja Scroll right now. It's a top ten action movie, animated or otherwise. Pretty sure it was also a big influence on MSG 3: Snake Eater, with Kojima borrowing the whole band of freaks hunting down a lone badass. Two of the guys from Snake Eater, The Fear and The Pain, were pretty much just straight up lifted from Ninja Scroll.
