Whereas the Batman of Batman v. Superman is just a different Batman for the sake of him not being the Nolan Batman.
The way I remember it, they did make it seem understandable how Batman would consider himself justified in his actions and have his heart in the right place. I'm not saying Batman V Superman was really good, because it was very shaky in some ways, but I liked it way better than I thought I would. I guess that, as someone who's not really deep into comic book lore, it managed to have a bit more going on psychologically than your average super hero movie. Justice League was a mess, but I even liked that one fairly much - even though it dropped a lot of the best aspects of the previous movie.

But I don't know. As a kid, the few super hero comics I read were mostly Spider Man. I don't know my Batman ABCs properly.
