You're right, JPJ Diamanda Galas certainly do make a dynamic duo.
It's such a very tough call though, Robert Plant had Robbie Blunt, Jeff Beck, Brian Seltzer for guitar players in his various projects (The Honeymooners, and solo). However Mick Ralphs from Mott the Hopple joined forces with Free's Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke to form Bad Company. Robbie Blunt is one of my favorite guitar players, but so is Mick Ralphs. So for me this isn't only all about Post-Led versus Post-Free. It's about which singer had joined forces with which guitar player. In a way it comes down to Blunt versus Ralphs. And the only way to solve that problem is to have another Final Showdown.
The Final Showdown 2.1: Mott the Hopple versus Silverhead - a skirmish resulting from The Final Showdown: Free vs. Zep and its aftermath.
Mick Ralphs on (what looks like) a modded Esquier.
Mott the Hoople - Honaloochie Boogie 1973
versus
Robbie Blunt on the Flying V
Silverhead - "Sixteen and Savaged"
