I'd agree with that. For as much as the original does for world building and creating an atmosphere and mood that is more or less impossible to replicate, it's legitimately boring IMO.
2049 is able to do a lot of the same for world building/atmosphere, but it isn't a slog to sit through. Visuals/audio are absolutely top notch as well.
