Why would he need to learn a life time of grappling? Just because Khabib beat him once doesnt mean Conor isn't capable of beating him in the standup game. it up, but its not for me.
Also, if youve(anyone) watched any of the post fight interviews and discussions, people seem more pissed about Conor getting punched post fight than what Khabib did.
