Ivo Perelman, Karl Berger, Gerald Cleaver - The Art Of The Improv Trio Volume 1

Even though Perelman is the band leader on this I’ve decided to direct the attention to Berger since it might be of interest to free jazz fans. He’s 83. He worked with Don Cherry. He played on Escalator over the Hill. It’s still heartbreaking to talk about Ornette in the past tense but they were friends and worked together to found the Creative Music Studio that was a study center that brought students in touch with the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Cecil Taylor, Pauline Oliveros and many others.
