Just when it looked like the
UFC was scrapping their
125-pound Flyweight division . . .
UFC Bantamweight Champion T.J. Dillashaw [
16-3 MMA,
12-3 UFC] will move down a weight class to face
Flyweight Champion Henry Cejudo
[
13-2 MMA,
7-2 UFC] in a super-fight for the
UFC Flyweight Championship on
January 26th, 2019 at
UFC 233 in Anaheim, California.
Dillashaw looks to become the
third fighter in
UFC history to simultaneously hold championships in 2 different weight classes, following in the
footsteps of
Conor McGregor [Featherweight & Lightweight] and
Daniel Cormier [Light Heavyweight & Heavyweight].
This will be
Cejudo's
first defense of the Flyweight title after winning it via split decision by defeating longtime
125-pound champ and GOAT contender
Demetrious Johnson back in
August.
Cejudo will enter the bout on a
3-fight win streak.
Dillashaw will enter the bout on a
4-fight win streak.
