None of us help "where we can". I could give away every single free dollar I've got right now and live on basics for the rest of the month. But I'm not doing that. Even if I'm giving
some of that money to charity tonight, I'm still not "helping where I can" since I could have helped more, in way that I didn't.
True selflessness is like a superpower or something. I'm keeping all or most of my money, at least this month. Probably all. Does that make me bad? I'm certainly not selflessly doing what I can to help.
It sucks, but I don't think OH is being simplistic. He's just saying it like it is. No sugar mixed in to make the drink less bitter.
