I for one have no reason to doubt that he's anything but a good father. That stuff about tucking them into bed each night is obviously the best case scenario, but it's also a scene out of Hollywood that doesn't always happen irl. Something else about being a good father is hanging in there when things don't go to plan; showing support and continuity in difficult circumstances. If you're doing it right, which I assume [MERIT] is, kids can actually learn something about life - that it can be rocky, but some ties/relationships are strong enough to survive under pressure.
