Well, now I'm getting drunk and spinning my Dr.John records. his first and most important to my heart, Gris-Gris, is up first. Back when I was a kid I used to pick out a record at random from my dads collection and spin it. I picked this one out, without listening to it before, on Halloween based solely on the fact that the cover creeped me out. I stalked around the house dressed as Batman all goddamn night to this record. I just kept starting it over. People came over and were like... Dr. John? Really? Pop was just like, well, the kid likes it so I'm cool with that. The dude meant a lot to my growing up and I'll miss him. F*cking sucks I never made it to see him live. Damn shame.

I had heard of this, but never listened to it yet. I like it quite a lot, and it feels like a record that will get even better with repeated listening. Sad that he died
