The problem is misdiagnosis which I guess plays into OH's point. If you're getting medication that causes problems you're getting the wrong medication.
Maybe even a better sense of communication between the doctor and the patient. Perhaps some patients have a hard time describing what they experience or with hold information. Getting a better understanding of my mental illnesses and how they work has drastically helped me put what I'm going through into words. Communicating the problems your medication causes you is going to help your psychiatrist determine which medication to switch you to. If your psychiatrist doesn't seem to listen then get one that does.
