I tried cbt in therapy right before I quit teaching.
My therapist said that everything she listened to me gripe about was fundamentally true but I was very disproportionate about how I reacted to it. She also said I’m way above average at reading situations like with the same skills you use to navigate a difficult novel or text but I amplify the negative to very intense degrees. That’s why she was saying to make lists of positive things.
