It 's easy to laugh at the media's excess outrage over this incident, but I wouldn't recommend laughing too much: isn't there a worrying lack of gratitude going on? Those poor police guys got quite an aggressive dowsing, then one day later the police are coming to the rescue as life-or-death heroes:
Garlic Shooting: lone gunman kills three people, including a six-year-old. Within one minute, police have killed gunman.
If you want to have police around, as the garlic festival crowds presumably did, shouldn't you allow them to be around unharrassed, as the water-throwers didn't ?
