I won't lie I'm not familiar with your example. But my main point is they aren't going to actually fix the problem of climate change. In fact, conservation in general won't fix it.
Only changing the energy infrastructure in addition to carbon trapping technology can fix it.
At least, that is assuming some of the warnings climate scientists are giving are accurate.

Yeah I don't care about the oil companies. But the reasons I am not so crazy about carbon taxes has nothing to do with protecting them. If anything, a true renewable alternative would threaten them far more than any tax could.
