After Parkland and so many mass shootings that we have all lost count, Trump's response remains consistent. Even though a bi-partisan gun control bill is sitting on McConnell's desk awaiting a vote, Trump's rhetoric doesn't change:"I had lunch with the NRA and called Mitch McConnell. They are absolutely on board with doing nothing while I make vague promises which I'll retract the minute media attention dies down."

In case some members here have forgotten how actual government can work:

10 April 2019: "Legislation to restrict semi-automatic firearms and magazines with a capacity of more than 10 rounds, and provide an amnesty and buyback of such weapons was introduced and passed by the New Zealand parliament by 119 votes to 1." The process, from Bill to Law, took one week.
