I find his music to be overly dramatic, “big” and yet feeling shallow, uand just ... ugh. His Piano Concerto No. 1 is by far the worst. Melodrama and glitter, no depth. Some people absolutely love it, but I honestly cannot stomach it. Just my opinion.

I do like his Seasons composition, and some of his valses, though.
At his worst it does suffer from some of the boring excesses of the romantic period. It’s sort of reminds me of where popular film is at right now: too showy.
